Background

I am an artist from Michigan. I have spent my life as an outdoorsman and live on the land. My art is inspired by being outside and the beauty of nature. The essence of my art is understanding the reality of nature.My land produces, apples, peaches, berries, walnuts, maple syrup, peace and art.My panels are made by a local craftsman. My frames are made from trees cut by myself and wood milled on my land. Many are made of walnut or maple.I sell a limited number of prints of each piece if requested. Prices are dependent on the size requested. I also can provide a frame if desired.Happy to do commissions of your barn, tractor, farm, landscape etc.

This painting is inspired by Midwest winter mornings. I actually know this family and coached their son.

Pleasant Rd Barn #3. Acrylic on birch panel. 18x24 $400.00 with maple frame. This barn is up west of Ann Arbor. The mood here tells of the Midwest winter.

Sun on a Traverse City Barn. Acrylic on birch panel. 18x24 $750.00 with maple frame. This was actually a barn I saw from route 22 in Northern Michigan.

Kiser Rd Barn in Eve. Acrylic on birch panel. 14x18 $350.00 with maple frame. This sunset was captured west of my property during a winter sunset.

Ode to Uncle Mort. Acrylic 4"x6" NFS. This is a small sketch painting of the Edmond Fritzgeral. My uncle Morten Earling Anderson sailed on her before her demise.

Crockett Rd Barn Evening. Acrylic on canvas. $350. Frame extra. This was taken one evening after a storm. I love the staging of the clouds.

Chicken Farm, best from a distance. 14"x18" panel $300 w/o frame. A rare sunny day provided this image. It smelled bad...

Bradley 36"x36" NFS. This was painted entirely in black and white. I am color blind and found the contrasts interesting. If you like it I could paint one for you!

Robinson Bay acrylic on birch panel 14"x18" $450. This is part of the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City. I love this angle. I have more I want to paint of this ship.

Morning at the ore dock. Acrylic on birch panel. 14"x 18" $500. This was from a ore dock in Marquette MI. Sunlight tells the story. One of my first pieces.

Watercolor 3"x5" NFS. This is the USS Bridge, my dad served on this ship in WWII and it fought in the Pacific. Memories are priceless.

Saline Barn in Winter. acrylic on birch panel. 14"x18" $450. This barn looks forlorn to me and caught my mood this day.

Marquette Ore Dock. Acrylic on canvas. 14"x18" SOLD. This painting was inspired by a friend of mine a great artist Steve Wysocki. I am grateful for his teaching.

These three paintings, acrylic 8"x10" on panels are an ode to my uncle. Morten Earling Anderson. He sailed on the Great Lakes his entire life and was a good as a man could be. Here's to Uncle Mort.

Alpena in the Moonlight. Acrylic on panel 14"x18" $500. This is a happy accident that happened when I painted the background. This is also framed with boards taken from a pallet which was used to haul feed on my ranch.

Hollow House. Acrylic on canvas panel. 8"10" This house is on my biking route. I used to pass it routinely. Now it is gone. $150 framed.
